Are you or someone you care
for affected by cancer or some
other life limiting, progressive
illness?
Hospice at Home provides
practical, social and emotional
support to both sufferers and
their carers.
The support a volunteer
provides will depend on the client’s
needs but may include such things
as:
•
Sitting with them to give their
carer a well earned break
•
Taking them out on trips to the
shops or a favourite venue
•
Friendship
•
Information and sign posting
We do not replace or take over the
care or the support provided by the
statutory services, nor do we provide
direct personal nursing care or
domestic services.
The majority of clients are visited
once a week or fortnight. Some are
supported by telephone. Others may
just want the occasional contact.
Every case is assessed and a
package of support is agreed with
the client and carer(s).
Quote from a
client:
“My Volunteer
continues to be a
source of
encouragement
and provided
much of the
strength to get
through the
inevitable low
times”
